More information about this quilt below.
An Opportunity Quilt is a collaborative quilt created by members of our guild and used as a raffle to raise vital funds that support our mission. This year’s quilt is a true reflection of community spirit—over 20 of our 35 members contributed their time, talent, and creativity to its design, planning, piecing, and construction. The project took more than six months to thoughtfully plan and complete, making it both a labor of love and a showcase of shared artistry.
Funds raised through the Opportunity Quilt directly support educational programs for our members, community outreach initiatives, and efforts to share and preserve the art of quilting. More than just a fundraiser, it represents the heart of our guild—bringing people together, strengthening connections, and helping ensure that the tradition of quilting continues to inspire and reach new audiences. Please help and support us in continuing this important work.

We are deeply committed to serving our community through a variety of heartfelt service projects that bring comfort, care, and support to those in need. One of our special outreach programs is HUGS, where members lovingly create handmade shawls that provide warmth, encouragement, and a “hug” to seniors living in assisted living and senior care facilities. We also make quilts for babies and foster families, offering handmade gifts that bring comfort, security, and a sense of love during important and sometimes difficult times in life.
Another project close to our hearts is Quilts of Gratitude, where we design and present patriotic quilts to veterans as a way to recognize their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. Each quilt is carefully crafted with gratitude and respect for the men and women who have served.
Community service is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that handmade items carry kindness, compassion, and connection, and we work hard to use our talents to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of others throughout our community.
Please donate to help us continue to serve and help the surrounding communities, veterans and quilters.
We have meetings the second Tuesday and fourth Tuesday and Saturdays of each month at 10am at the Fernley Senior Center.
